Over 25 years management experience in HIV & AIDS services with nonprofit organizations. Has broad experience in cross-cultural and bilingual service delivery. Served on our board for two years, one of them as treasurer. As executive director of Mama’s Kitchen since 2002, has responsibility for staff, program success, and fiscal integrity. Has an MBA from San Diego State University and is a Navy veteran.
Anne R. Garger
With 20 years of experience in the United States Navy as chief petty officer responsible for preparation of four meals daily for a crew of 750, Chef Garger was nominated for the Ney Award for Outstanding Food Service. Joining Mama’s Kitchen in 1996, her responsibilities include menu planning, purchasing and preparation of all food items to meet specific dietary guidelines for all clients.
Director of Programs:
Responsible for supervision of the Home Delivered Meal and Pantry Programs, Gigi also coordinates the Volunteer Program and Client Services. With over 25 years experience in marketing, operations and fundraising, she joined the staff in 2012 as the Capital Campaign Manager. Interacting with volunteers, donors and clients is what she enjoys most about her job.
Director of Administration and Finance:
With over 20 years of experience, Kelly manages the financial and human resource functions of the organization, policy implementation and governance support. She joined Mama’s Kitchen in 2005 as a volunteer, as staff in 2013, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Non-Profit Leadership and Management at the University of San Diego.
Director of Development
Tracie began her career in fundraising in 1998 with a focus on engaging the community in ensuring that the most basic elements of life, such as food and shelter, were available to everyone. She and her team are responsible for individual and institutional giving, special events, and communications. In addition to enjoying and caring for the environment, cooking and sharing healthy food is a favorite pastime – so she wholeheartedly believes that Food is Love!
