Mama’s Pantry is designed to meet the needs of HIV/AIDS individuals who do not need meal deliveries, but can benefit from occasional nutrition support to maintain their health and stretch their food budget.
The service is available to those whose income does not exceed $1,400 per month. Once a month clients visit Mama’s Pantry, 3960 Home Avenue, San Diego, 92105 and select their own non-perishable items such as cereals, pastas and canned goods from a wide selection. A limited number of perishable items, including meat, dairy, fresh fruit, and bread, are also available.
The Pantry is open from 10am to 4pm Monday through Friday. It is closed on Federal Holidays.
A referral is not needed to receive services at the Pantry, but you must provide written proof of the following:
1) diagnosis of HIV positive
2) income of $1,400 or less per month
3) San Diego County residency

If you would like to support Mama's Pantry and take advantage of our bulk purchasing, please make a donation to our Virtual Food Drive. Your donation dollars go directly to the purchase of food and are stretched further by our ability to use wholesale prices.
Since our first day of operations, we have never turned away anyone qualified for our services and we are determined that we never will.
