Mama’s Kitchen’s Presents "Bourbon and Blue Velvet"
9th Annual Bourbon Street Wine Tasting Event
SAN DIEGO – On Thursday, August 26, 2004, Mama’s Kitchen, a non-profit delivery service dedicated to providing nutritious meals 365 days a year to San Diegans affected by AIDS, and Bourbon Street present their 9th annual wine tasting event. All proceeds will benefit the home-delivered meals program to those living with AIDS throughout San Diego County.
Bourbon and Blue Velvet will feature the cabaret music of the Blue Velvet trio, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres from Prego Ristorante, California Cuisine, Ono Sushi, The Abbey Café and Twiggs Coffeehouse and Bakery. Four different types of wines to be sampled throughout the evening will be provided by Southern Wine and Spirits.
Bourbon and Blue Velvet is generously sponsored by Union Bank of California and The James Ziegler Donor Advised Fund at the San Diego Foundation.
Fundraising events such as "Bourbon and Blue Velvet" helps Mama’s Kitchen sustain our ability to continue to help those living with AIDS who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. About Mama's Kitchen
Mama's Kitchen was founded in 1990 when volunteers from the AIDS Assistance Fund, a food bank for people with AIDS, discovered that many of their clients were becoming too ill to take care of themselves. They realized that a reliable home meal delivery service was needed to ensure that these individuals would continue to receive nutritious food. Today, Mama's Kitchen prepares and delivers three meals a day for every day of the week to about 300 men, women, and children affected by AIDS or other critical illnesses in San Diego County.
