Mama’s Day 2004 Going for 14 Years of Success
SAN DIEGO – Back again! Mama’s Day promises to be the “Coolest Event of the Year”, showcasing over 60 of San Diego's finest restaurants to raise money for people affected by HIV/AIDS. As usual, the Mama’s Kitchen annual fundraiser will take place the Friday before Mother’s Day, May 7th, at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla at 6:30 pm.
Each year hundreds of supporters turn out for Mama’s Day, the nonprofit’s signature event, which benefits the Mama’s Kitchen program to provide home delivered food and nutrition to people with HIV/AIDS throughout San Diego County.
San Diego’s crème de la crème will provide a food tasting adventure, preparing their most popular and lavish culinary specialties. Guests will enjoy live entertainment and sample the delicious food prepared by some of San Diego’s most well known chefs. Mama’s Day 2004 will also host opportunity drawings, a silent auction, an Absolut Vodka bar and more. Ticket prices are $100 per person.
This year’s event chairs include Chairs Emeriti Jeanne Jones and Jim Bowers and event chair Elisabeth Bergan. This year’s major sponsor is SAIC. Volunteers are always welcome and needed.

About Mama's Kitchen
Mama's Kitchen was founded in 1990 when volunteers from the AIDS Assistance Fund, a food bank for people with AIDS, discovered that many of their clients were becoming too ill to take care of themselves. They realized that a reliable home meal delivery service was needed to ensure that these individuals would continue to receive nutritious food. Today, Mama's Kitchen prepares and delivers three meals a day for every day of the week to about 300 men, women, and children affected by AIDS or other critical illnesses in San Diego County.
