Mama's Kitchen's Thanksgiving tradition is back, bigger than ever! Our 6th annual Pie in the Sky bake sale raises funds to help Mama's Kitchen carry out its mission to prepare and deliver home cooked meals free of charge to our San Diego neighbors affected by AIDS or cancer. The bake sale started October 4, with online sales through November 21. Our goal is to sell 5,000 pies and raise at least $100,000 to feed the critically ill. Mama's Kitchen continues to celebrate 20 years of responding to the nutritional needs of people vulnerable to hunger due to AIDS and, in more recent times, people with cancer as well. In this spirit of celebration we continue (from our prior newsletter) to pay tribute to more pioneers from the early days of Mama's Kitchen.
