At Mama's Kitchen we believe that every person is entitled to the basic necessity of life, nutritious food. As a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, we prepare and deliver food to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer.

Mama's Day 2010 – A Record Breaking Success!

Mama's Day has become one of the most anticipated culinary events in San Diego. Anyone who attended this nineteenth annual poolside extravaganza on May 7th would certainly agree that it was indeed an extraordinary gastronomic evening. Joined by more than 70 of San Diego's most talented chefs and fine restaurants who donated their magnificent talents and artisan food, Mama's Kitchen raised over $172,000—breaking all previous records! The poolside extravaganza featured Culinary Host Sam "The Cooking Guy" Zien, music by Tim Altbaum Productions, and emcee Vic Salazar, former NBC 7/39 anchor and current President/CEO of Vic Salazar Communications. For those who couldn't make it this year, mark your calendar for May 6th, 2011; this is a not-to-be-missed evening! Proceeds from this year's fundraiser will go directly to help Mama's Kitchen prepare and deliver nearly 61,000 meals to San Diegans affected by AIDS or cancer.

Our 15th Annual Wine Tasting: Raise a Glass to Mama's Kitchen!
What better way to pass a balmy summer evening? Savor a variety of wine pours served with sumptuous hors d'oeuvres throughout the evening on Thursday, July 29th at the open air Bourbon Street, 4612 Park Boulevard. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with plenty of wine, music, a Lucky Ticket Silent Auction featuring indulgent gift packages from San Diego's premier dining and entertainment venues, and Mama's popular "Wine Deck" Opportunity Drawing for a 1 in 52 chance to take home 25 bottles of premium wine.
