Our Mission

At Mama's Kitchen we believe that every person is entitled to the basic necessity of life, nutritious food. As a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, we prepare and deliver food to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer.

Community Support

Bog Bagnall

Bob Bagnall Event

In lieu of traditional birthday gifts, Bob Bagnall graciously requested that a donation be made to Mama's Kitchen in honor of his 50th Birthday. On November 17th, Bob delivered over $1,500 to Mama's Kitchen to help provide meals to those suffering from AIDS or cancer. Many thanks to Bob for his spirit of giving and for including Mama's Kitchen in his celebration!

Honoring Foundations - S. Mark Taper Foundation

We would like to thank the S. Mark Taper Foundation for their generous donation of $50,000 towards our Critical Illness Nutrition Program and Home Delivered Meals Program. The S. Mark Taper Foundation has been instrumental in ensuring that we at Mama’s Kitchen can continue to provide nourishing meals to those San Diegans most vulnerable to hunger and malnutrition. Founded in 1989, the S. Mark Taper Foundation is a private family foundation dedicated to enhancing the quality of people's lives by supporting nonprofit organizations and their work in Southern California communities.

IntuitIntuit Supports Mama's

On January 7, 2010, Mama's Kitchen presented Intuit with the honor of the 2009 Top Pie Sales Team. Intuit was able to raise over $6,000 for Mama's Kitchen and sold 273 Pies! This effort was lead by some dynamic individuals, including Intuit employee and Mama's Kitchen Volunteer Jeff MaGee who sold Mama’s pies everyday in the Intuit Cafeteria dressed as a chef, Morris Neer and the Intuit Pride Network, and Jeanette Voss and Intuit's outreach committee We Care and Give Back. Mama’s Kitchen thanks the folks at Intuit for their hard work on Pie in the Sky!
