When did Mama’s Kitchen move to their new home?

We officially opened the doors of our new facility to staff, volunteers and clients on Monday, August 29, 2011.

Where is the new facility?

We have moved to 3960 Home Avenue SD, 92105 (at the corner of Beech and Home) in the San Diego community of Fairmont Park. It is easily accessible from Freeways 94 and 805.

Why did Mama’s Kitchen move?

The landlord of our location on Second Avenue chose not to renew our lease because of intentions to sell the property. So after much research and consideration, the board of directors decided to purchase and renovate a building with ample square footage to accommodate future client needs and projected increased demand for services. Our new 11,000 square-foot, two-story facility gives us a permanent location and increases our capacity to serve more people and provide more in-house prepared foods.

Did Mama’s Pantry move as well?

Mama’s Pantry moved from its North Park location to the Home Avenue location as well. We have increased our hours of operation (Monday through Friday 10am-4pm) and provide perishable food items, like fresh fruit and bread.

Where do I park when I visit the new facility?

If you are visiting our Pantry or administrative offices, please park in our lot off Beech Street. Additional parking is also available on Beech Street or in the parking lot off Home Avenue.
