Mama’s Kitchen is happy to announce that our organization has added a new position to its executive staff, hiring our first Chief Operating Officer (COO). Andrew Picard will begin serving as Mama’s Kitchen’s COO on February 1, 2022. This newly created position will increase our organization’s capacity in both breadth and complexity, while assuring continued advances and responsiveness to the nutritional needs of our diverse communities. According to Alberto Cortes, Mama’s Kitchen’s CEO, “Mama’s Kitchen continues responding to the ever-increasing need for our medically tailored nutrition services across San Diego County. The addition of Andrew Picard to our team will strengthen our responsiveness to this need.”

With over 17-years of senior leadership experience in the areas non-profit, government, and state and national organizations, Andrew brings a range of skills and experience that include, but are not limited to, organizational management, program design and evaluation, and government contract management. In his most recent role, Andrew served as Chief Program Officer (CPO) for San Diego Workforce Partnership from 2014 to 2021. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science and public policy from University of California, Santa Barbara. We look forward to Andrew’s integration into our team.

Andrew shares, “I couldn’t be more proud to join the Mama’s Kitchen team. I’m honored to serve an organization bringing nutrition, well-being and human dignity to people living with critical illnesses. Food is love, and the past two years have only emphasized how much our community needs the resources provided by Mama’s Kitchen. I look forward to learning from and growing with the talented team.”
