IMG_1300Mama’s Kitchen continues to fill a need in our community by providing free, nutritious meals to men, women and children who are affected by AIDS or cancer. We offer 11 different meal plans to meet our clients’ nutritional requirements, and our meals are lovingly prepared and hand-delivered by hundreds of volunteers. In addition, Mama’s Pantry Service provides low-income HIV-positive individuals with a free once-a-month shopping opportunity, to help them add nutrition to their diet and stretch their budget. Our average Pantry client has an income of $644 per month.

During the first eight months of our fiscal year, from July 1, 2015 through March 31, 2016, Mama’s Kitchen prepared and home-delivered 266,481 meals to individuals living with AIDS or cancer. This included 36,894 meals (14%) for our clients’ minor children. In addition, 724 clients made 3,803 visits to shop in our Pantry at no cost to them.
