Mama’s Kitchen’s Customized Group Volunteer Experience

We are pleased to partner with corporations in San Diego and nationwide to help bring healing nutrition to thousands of critically ill individuals each year. Corporate volunteer groups provide essential support to our kitchen staff and operation teams. Participants have the opportunity to work in the kitchen preparing healthy snacks, organizing food for distribution, staging meal bags for delivery, and other client-centered tasks as needed.

Our corporate partners rave the Customized Volunteer Experience is a perfect team-building exercise – providing the perfect atmosphere to connect or reconnect with their teams while investing in their community.

NEW: In Fiscal Year 2024, the Customized Group Volunteer Experience will require a $250 tax-deductible donation to participate. Program and food costs have increased as Mama’s Kitchen is meeting the demand for 120% more clients than just three years ago. Our organization enjoys making these engagement opportunities available and this contribution will allow us to continue to do so.

Program Description:

Customized Group Volunteer Experience – $250 tax-deductible donation per group of 5-12 people
Your contribution can be fulfilled in a variety of ways including but not limited to corporate foundation grants, corporate give-back (employer contributions that match employee volunteer hours), general corporate gifts, and event sponsorships.

Group Size: Groups can be as large as 12 team members but no less than 5. Groups participate in a team-building volunteer activity such as preparing a healthy snack for clients or setting up meal bags to prepare for delivery.

Volunteer Schedule: Shifts are offered twice a month on Thursday afternoons, 4-6 p.m. at Mama’s Kitchen located in the City Heights neighborhood. Our address is 3960 Home Ave. San Diego, CA 92105.

CANCELATION POLICY

Should your group need to cancel your volunteer activity, please give Mama’s Kitchen 1 (one) week’s notice. $250 will be charged for NO SHOWS. This program uses purchased food. By not showing up or coming with fewer than 5 people, the food used for the activity will not be able to be delivered and will go to waste. We appreciate your understanding.
